I know it's been a while, but it has been crazy busy around here...between work and trying to get the house in some sort of order and playing with Logan, I have been EXHAUSTED. But 8 more days of school and hopefully everything will slow down. 8 more days!!! As I have said before, this year has been terrible for me so I am dying for it to be over.
Some new things about Logan--he is getting some temper issues that are concerning me, not like really concerning me since he's 2 and all, but still a little worrisome. He has picked up biting again, he's only done it a couple of times at the sitter's house, but he has tried to bite me multiple times when he doesn't like my answer or reaction. He comes at me with an open mouth and everything. I can see it coming, though, so I have been able to stop it most of the time. Well, tonight he attempted it again and I asked if he was going to bite me. He said yes. I asked him if he wanted me to bite him. He said yes. So I did. Now, this was not the first time I have bitten him and I don't do it hard, just enough for him to realize that it hurts. He didn't like it one bit but he got over it pretty quick, too. I know the "bite them back" thing has worked for lots of people, but I don't know if it is going to work on this stubborn little toot. Any suggestions are welcome.
He also has begun hitting. Tonight at the dinner table he was not happy that I was making him eat his ravioli and green beans before he got peaches, so he said, "I hit, Mommy. I hit." He started to swing his arm in my direction, but he couldn't reach me. I asked him if he was trying to hit me. He said yes. I told him if he hits me he will have to go have a seat in time-out. He didn't like that and turned away. So that ended that...for now. But he has started hitting more and more out of frustration, which confuses me since he communicates pretty well, I think. I understand more of the behaviors when the language piece isn't quite developed yet, but he can get his point across most of the time. I guess he is just trying to figure out how to make things go his way. Wow, it's going to be a fun summer. But he's so cute and fun...I can't wait to spend every day with him. I have big plans. Swimming lessons, museums, parks, storytime at the library, making crafts...all the things I would get to do with him if I got to stay home. Maybe one day...
On another note, I have been spending money like it's going out of style. I am trying to redecorate the new house in a different style than we had at the old house and since we sold all the furniture at a last minute garage sale, I don't really have a choice in the matter. But this is the first time I am not buying furniture on the cheap. We want to buy furniture that will last and that typically is not cheap. Now, this is not to say I am not hunting down sales and coupons...you all know me better than that. I don't buy anything unless it's on sale or I have a coupon. But still, I am very picky and attached to my money. But we did buy new bedroom furniture yesterday and I love it. It's a little bigger than I remembered from the store, but so pretty. And I just ordered a TV wall unit for the living room and entryway bench/shelf (free shipping and on sale!!) from JC Penney's after much researching and debating. I finally just bit the bullet and realized it can be returned if it doesn't work. But both of those pieces are on back order until July 24! Hopefully they will arrive earlier than that, but still. I like instant gratification. Now I just need a coffee table and a kitchen table...
I love that entry bench! Very cute!
